HOW TO GET THERE:

Here are directions to The (Lake) Haven:

1. Drive from Eagle River into Wasilla.

1.5. Turn left on Knik Goose Bay south towards Pt McKenzie road. Follow it for about 16 miles.

2. Turn right on pt Mackenzie road. Follow it ALL THE WAY down to where it T’s. Google maps might try to lead you up a power line trail, but don’t follow it. Just keep on Pt McKenzie road until it comes to a stop sign and an intersection. It’s about 7.5 miles.

3. Turn right onto Ayreshire road.
Follow it for .2 miles until it hangs a left hand turn. Around the corner look for Burma road on the right.

4. Turn right on Burma road. Follow that for a few miles until you come to a very large gravel turnaround and drive way on the right. You’ll find that gravel turnaround just after you drive through a very nice aspen grove. (Gia helped type this :)

5. Turn right into the gravel pad and go down the smallish driveway a few hundred feet and then take the first right. This is the driveway we share. There is a gate, and the code is: TURN.

6. Before you hit our neighbors connex’s and campers, the driveway splits and a secondary driveway juts off to the right. It’s looks new because it is. Follow that new road off the right as it winds through the woods to where you park. There is a turnaround and parking pad at the end.

FAQ

What are we eating?

We are planning to eat meat cooked over the fire for lunch (hot dogs, burgers, brats). And we also are thinking of a Hobo dinner for the evening (basically a combo of meats and veggies wrapped in tin foil and booked in the coals. Each man would design his own).

What are we doing?

Most of this is classified. But it will be fun. Plan to come at 11 and stay for dinner. Things will be less structured after that.

What are we discussing?

Here's the question I am chewing on: What makes a successful man? Come with thoughts and other questions on this.

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
