About the November 30th Meeting

Background

We love our church body, and the building that God has given us to gather in.

 

In early 2024, the elders asked for a team to be formed to evaluate facility needs and issues in our building, and suggest improvements based on the most pressing issues. The Facility Vision Team (FVT) was formed in 2024, and over the past year and a half, they have undergone a process of identifying needs, and offering suggestions to the elders on what those could look like. These recommended improvements include:

FVT List of Needs

1. Improving Handicap Accessibility

   1. Providing handicap access to the basement, and potentially the upstairs room.

   2. Improving ramp access at front. 

   3. Adding a covered "drive up" in front of the church.

2. Increasing classroom space

   1. More meeting space for Awana

3. Increased Office Space

   1. The addition of an Associate Pastors office

   2. Greater space for office / admin work

4. Increased storage space

5. Increased sanctuary and foyer space

   1. Addressing seating and space constraints with a growing church body.

   2. Providing a larger space for gathering, and a better spot for COFFEE! :)

6. Addressing utility issues

   1. Water storage tank, utility closet in basement.

   2. Septic system is delicate and aging.

7. Adding more ladies bathroom stalls.
   
    

Concept Design:

The FVT spent many hours exploring various ways to accommodate these areas for improvement, and went to a design firm for help on providing a rough concept. Northform took the FVT ideas and developed an addition/remodel plan which would address the 7 areas listed above. The concept outlined can be seen below (use the arrows to switch between pages).

 

Next Steps:

The FVT and elders believe it is now time to solicit feedback from the congregation on the potential project, and to answer questions on this. This is still in the early stages, and many critical items such as cost, timeframes, etc are still being discussed.
But, we want to ask that you join us in prayer, and come to the meeting on November 30th at 6pm to hear a presentation on this project, get additional details, and have a space to ask and get answers to questions.

More than anything, the elders and FVT ask you to pray with them as they consider God's leading, and plan for our church. May Jesus lead His sheep, and may we honor God with any decisions made. ​​
